Protest with grand piano in Kiev

An unusual form of protest chose an ukrainian popular music star – Ruslan (she represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004). As reported by the German portal Clavio.de, on 14 February at Kiev’s Maidan, a piano concert of an Ukrainian star took part. (on video since 4m50sec)

Dressed in blue and yellow colors, Ruslana played e.g. “Ode to Joy” of Beethoven or a few songs of “The Beatles”. That concert was intended for both, protesters and policemen standing on the other side of the barricade.
Ruslana Łyżyczko is a singer, winner of Eurovision Song Contest (2004),who from the first day supports protesters on Independence Square. She is very strongly related with opposition leaders -Vitali Klitschko and Arseniy Yatsenjouk- and heats them to fight. Thus, Ruslana finds herself in the middle of political battle in her country.
