Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, or 30-second moment of relaxation with a bell cell phone? Such variety to mobile phone users offered brukssels Philharmonics some time ago.
Classics was successful as a ringtone. Just in the first three days it reached more than 10,000 users. It was the first world’s proposal of its own classic repertoire.
This fact demonstrates the interest of classical music, though, it seems that concert halls are getting empty.
Brussels Philharmonics shared bells not only to encourage people to that kind of music, but also in order to promote themselves. Available bells were selected from the repertoire performed under the baton of Michel Tabachnik, music director of the Brussels Philharmonic.
As reported by AFP – ringtones are available and can be downloaded for free at www.brusselsphilharmonic.be/ringtones.
